A native of Kaufman, Texas, Dr. Tubbs says that one of his earliest influences was growing up on his family’s small farm. “We always had cattle, chickens, and raised a few pigs as well,” he says. “Raising animals for reasons other than companionship and working on the farm both helped build a strong connection to animals and helped create a strong work ethic.”

Another early influence was his first dog. “I got Rufus, a Yellow Lab, when I was a young boy of about seven or eight,” Dr. Tubbs says. “He was never phased by anything—aural hematomas, bitten by a water moccasin, kicked by a cow—and yet he was always there for me, like a rock. I admired him and think of him any time I see a Yellow Lab.”

For his undergraduate studies, Dr. Tubbs attended Texas A&M University where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Science in 2002. A year later, he enrolled at Ross University’s School of Veterinary Medicine with a year of clinical studies at Texas A&M University’s College of Veterinary Medicine. He received his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2007. His areas of special professional interest include ultrasound and surgery. He is also a member of the New York State Veterinary Medical Society, American Veterinary Medical Association, and the Westchester-Rockland Veterinary Medical Association.

Dr. Tubbs and Dr. Goldman—who met their first day of veterinary school—have three boys, Eli, Nathaniel, and Seth, and provide a home for a Boxer named Solo, a mixed breed named Jasper, and two cats named Herman and Teddy. His interests include working out, playing with his son and following the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers.

Daniela Goldman, DVM

millwood ny veterinariansDr. Daniela Goldman is a General Practitioner and co-owner of Millwood Animal Hospital with her husband Dr. Jeremy Tubbs since June of 2011.

Dr. Goldman says that she has wanted to be a veterinarian since she was a young girl growing up in New York City and caring for her family’s four dogs. Adding to her desire was time spent riding horses competitively and spending summers working on a horse farm training and taking care of the horses. Now that she is a veterinarian, she says she gains great satisfaction from seeing a patient’s health improve as well as being able to successfully take on a challenging case.

For her undergraduate studies, Dr. Goldman attended Skidmore College where she was a member of the Intercollegiate Equestrian Team. She received a Bachelor of Science in Business in 2000. Dr. Goldman then worked on Wall Street, but found the tug of becoming a veterinarian too much to ignore. In 2001, she enrolled in New York University to complete her post-baccalaureate degree for veterinary school and then enrolled in Ross University’s School of Veterinary Medicine. During veterinary school she received the University’s Large Animal Surgery Award. Dr. Goldman received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2007.

Her areas of special professional interest include oncology and internal medicine. Dr. Goldman is also a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the New York State Veterinary Medical Society. Additionally, she has worked as a volunteer with Earthwatch in Kenya to research Black Rhinos, participated in a veterinary wildlife course in South Africa, and writes a monthly veterinary article for the Examiner, a newspaper that serves Chappaqua, Millwood and New Castle.

Dr. Goldman and her husband Dr. Jeremy Tubbs are the proud parents of three boys, Eli, Nathaniel, and Seth. Her pets include a mixed breed named Jasper, a Boxer named Solo, and two cats named Herman and Teddy. Interests include hiking, travel, and spending time with her family.
